Transportation

Group Project

NWA Daily

The Arkansas Department of Transportation is constantly improving the way we get around here in Northwest Arkansas with construction projects dedicated to safe and efficient travel.

  • The people's hwy: ArDOT has proposed a few options for the alignment of the hwy that would connect the Bella Vista Bypass to the U.S. Hwy 412 bypass west of I-49. The dept. is seeking feedback to know what makes the most sense for the people who will be driving on the connecting hwy.
  • Online info: Virtual meetings will be held through Sept. 20 for those who wish to attend. The project presentation with four alternatives for the new hwy are online along with exhibits and materials.

Diverse & Inclusive

NWA Daily

After the success of a film festival, the next logical step is to create a production company.

  • Steps in film: The BFFoundation was formed last year to host the Bentonville Film Festival this past August. The foundation’s new production company is called Bentonville Way Entertainment, its purpose being the same as the festival —to champion women, diverse and inclusive voices in filmmaking.
  • Already moving: The aim of BWE is to produce in Arkansas whenever possible and provide resources to local productions always. BWE already has films in the pipeline that feature Bentonville festival alumni. Three films are currently in preproduction, expected to go into production late this year and early next.

Sounds Like Light

NWA Daily

The unification of sound, color and life are difficult to understand, yet Crystal Bridges’ North Forest Lights beautifully expresses the interconnectivity.

  • Forest life: North Forest Lights is open today, Sept. 1, through Jan. 2, 2022 for a third season. There are 5 installations in the wood around the museum which animate the “soul of the forest” with music and lights.
  • Night walks: The experience is accessible to people of all ages, so plan to take a walk with family and friends after sunset on a Wednesday through Sunday night for an immersive nature-inspired adventure. Tickets are available online. Walk-up tickets will cost extra.
