Restaurant Highlight

A Hidden Gem

NWA Daily

In NWA, we're fortunate to have great Mexican food of many different varieties on seemingly every corner, and everyone has their go-to spot. We recently took a visit to La Media Luna, and if it's not on your list, it should be!

  • What's cookin?: La Media Luna adds a unique, gourmet flair to traditional Mexican dishes that is unlike anything else in Northwest Arkansas. The crowd favorites are the Cochinita Pibil and the Chile En Nogada, and they are a must.
  • Great food, better company: The staff at La Media Luna is incredibly friendly and loves to make sure guests have a great time. The restaurant hosts a Mariachi band on Friday nights and Jazz music on Thursday and Saturday nights. In the summer, you can enjoy this music out on a fun patio.

If you're more of a taco Tuesday person, the restaurant offers great happy hour options from 4-6p on weeknights. Get more details and read their story here.

NWA Daily

The University of Arkansas Libraries recently received more than $5m from individuals as gifts to create new opportunities for students and faculty.

  • Improvements: Most of the contributions will establish 2 endowed faculty positions, a Dean’s Chair and a Professorship in Special Collections. Part of the funds will go toward renovations of the Mullins Library.
  • Amplified: The gifts are from anonymous graduates of the U of A, and their combined contribution is the largest given to the University Libraries to date. The new endowed positions will be the first for the University Libraries and will enable amplification of the Special Collections Division.

Local Lettuce And Herbs Available For Pick-Up

Ozark Fresh Living Greens

Living in the Ozarks comes with its perks as fresh, leafy greens are available to pick up from your local farm in Rogers.

  • Come n' get it: The lettuce and herbs at Ozark Fresh Living Greens (OFLG) are fed exactly what they need to be “the best dense lettuce you have ever tasted” without harmful pesticides and herbicides. You can order your lettuce and herbs on the OFLG website and pick them up at the farm.
  • Just water: The lettuce and herbs grow with the hydroponic method, which means the plants are grown with water and neutral nutrients — no soil. The farm is an 8,000 sq/ft greenhouse and can grow as much as could in a 10-acre soil farm.
