A brand new climbing rope company in Rogers is officially releasing its first products today! 

• New product: Lacaida Ropes is a small veteran- and Latino-owned company founded to produce the “safest, prettiest, and most useful” climbing rope in the world. Located at the Loloft industrial co-working space in Rogers, the company manufactures and now sells innovative climbing rope found nowhere else. 
• Better climb: What makes the rope at Lacaida Ropes especially unique are the midpoint and meter marks, which take out the guesswork for lead climbing. Besides the markings, the ropes have additional safety features for sending in all environments. There are plans for more products, but for now, the first two ropes are ready for purchase.

The Nursing Schools Almanac recognized the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Nursing in its 2022 ranking of the nation’s 100 best nursing programs. 

• In the top: The UAMS College of Nursing was the only school in Arkansas to make the Top 100. UAMS ranked No. 82 among 3,000 institutions examined, placing it among the top 3%. 
• Showing success: The rankings were based on institutions’ academic prestige and perceived value, the success of students, and the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered. Among public nursing schools in the U.S., UAMS is listed as No. 44 out of more than 1,800.

It’s the last Thursday of the month, meaning the Live! @ Turnbow Concert Series will continue this evening in Downtown Springdale with music, food and drink in the Outdoor Dining District, and lots of fun!

• Performers: The opening act tonight is The Mountain Gypsies, an acoustic family band from the Boston Mountains. The headliner tonight is Arkansauce, a genre-hopping four-piece string band from Northwest Arkansas, bending the rules and blurring the lines between an array of sounds like bluegrass and folk with notes of country, blues, and funk.
• More to come: Live! @ Turnbow will take place on the last Thursdays of the month through October this year. All concerts begin at 6:30p, and in the event of inclement weather, postponed concerts are rescheduled to the following Sunday at 6:30p.
