Highlands Oncology Purchases Land for New Cancer Treatment Campus

Last week, Highlands Oncology, the region’s largest cancer-care provider, took steps to expand the level of cancer care in Northwest Arkansas by purchasing land for a new campus in Rogers.

Aggressive Growth: Highlands paid $13.6m for 51 acres along I-49 and S Bellview Rd, with plans to develop a new cancer care campus, including a state-of-the-art, 150,000ft2 facility. The site will serve as a medical technology innovation campus, developing advanced cancer treatment methods.

On Mission: One of Arkansas’s largest cancer treatment centers, Highlands has 32 physicians and over 600 employees working to ensure “that no one should have to leave Northwest Arkansas for world-class cancer care.”

Bentonville’s First Friday is Sure To Get You Moving

Bentonville’s First Friday theme for September is “In Motion” — a celebration of all the things that get us moving sponsored by Segway, who will be present with their latest F-SE and the C15 kickscooter models for folks to test drive. Join the fun this Friday, Sep 1, from 3-9p.

To the Skies: Get your heart pounding with the Flippenout Trampoline Show as trampoline artists take to the sky, and enjoy music from DJ Girlfriend. The evening’s headliner, Kris Allen, takes the stage from 7:30-9p.

On the Move: Play with tinkering stations from the Amazeum, learn about the physics of bicycles with NWA Space and Science Center, join a dance lesson, or burn some calories with several local gym leaders. There will be something for everyone to enjoy this First Friday.

Downtown Rogers Heating Up for Frisco Inferno BBQ Competition

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Frisco Inferno, the Official BBQ Competition of Bikes, Blues & BBQ Motorcycle Rally, hosted in Downtown Rogers on Sep 23.

Smoke the Competition: Up to 30 teams of four may enter and compete for The Judges’ Choice Awards, including trophies and cash prizes in two categories of smoked meat — Pork and Turkey.

The Meat Sweats: Not a chef, but have strong opinions about flavor? This year features a VIP Pit Pass, which includes the opportunity to taste all the competing teams' work and vote for the People’s Choice Award.
