NWA Daily

Locals caught a glimpse of Hollywood in downtown Springdale yesterday - Actors Martin Lawrence (main actor in Bad Boys) and Melissa Roxburgh (in Star Trek Beyond) were filming outside of Mr. Taco Loco on Emma Ave.

  • Lights, camera, action: The two stars seemed to be sporting police wear and had spectators wondering if these shots will have anything to do with the Bad Boys 4.
  • Ironic timing: The 7th Annual Bentonville Film Festival also kicked off yesterday, celebrating the "diverse and unique voices and stories" of the region.

Maple Street Makeover

The City of Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas are planning a $6.4m revamp of a six-block area of Maple St. between Garland Ave. and the Razorback Greenway.

  • Streetscape: After remaining in the planning stages for several years, local leaders submitted the project plans to the USDOT for financial aid.
  • Long street short: The plans include solving several safety concerns by expanding the sidewalks and adding a bike lane that runs parallel to Maple St., linking campus to the greenway.
